Marmoreo SarcophagusSelene's myth

The Antiquarium It guards the sculptural, architectural and liturgical elements of the complex

The Antiquarium of the basilicas was set up in 2000 and it guards the sculptural, architectural and liturgical elements of the complex. Here we can see marble pillars that decorated the altar of San Felice in the middle Ages. Here you will find the ancient marble sarcophagus reused for the burial of the suspect Adeodato.

Among all the objects, it is very interesting the marble crater witch maybe matches the canthorus, wich is a fountain, installed by San Paolino. Among  the objects from the early Christianity ,furthermore, the five wooden caps are very interesting and they come from the altar on the tomb of San Felice: inside them were kept some relics.

Among the liturgical furnishings the pluto with the griffins is very important, together with the slab with the bovine and the lion and other fragments were part of the altar of San Felice at the time of the bishop Leone III and probably also the pillars are dated at the same time.
